The Fronius Reserva is a DC-coupled high-voltage modular Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery system designed for residential solar energy storage. Built around 3.15 kWh modules operating at a nominal 102.4 V each, the Reserva 9.5 uses 3 stacked modules to deliver 9.47 kWh of 100% usable energy. With 8.91 kW continuous charge/discharge power, a 12.68 kW 5-second peak, a 10-year warranty with 70% capacity retention in Australia, backup power capability, and full Fronius Solar.web monitoring, the Reserva 9.5 is a strong mid-size storage solution for Australian homes wanting more usable capacity without stepping up to a larger tower. Premium Performance for High-Demand Homes

The Fronius Reserva 9.5 connects directly to the DC side of a compatible Fronius hybrid inverter, allowing solar energy to be stored with minimal conversion losses. Fronius positions the Reserva as a DC-coupled high-voltage battery designed to maximise efficiency and independence, especially when paired with the GEN24 Plus platform. At 8.91 kW continuous power and 12.68 kW peak power for 5 seconds, the Reserva 9.5 offers a noticeable step up from the entry model and is better suited to homes with larger evening loads, stronger backup expectations, or future electrification plans.

Advanced LFP Architecture at Scale

The Reserva uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry, which Fronius highlights for its high thermal and chemical stability. Each module has a nominal capacity of 30.85 Ah and a nominal voltage of 102.4 V. In the 9.5 kWh configuration, 3 modules are stacked to form a battery with 9.47 kWh usable energy, 307.2 V nominal voltage, an output voltage range of 268.8 to 345.6 V, and an operating voltage range of 278.4 to 340.8 V. The battery management system monitors and protects against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, undertemperature, and cell or hardware errors.

Designed for Expansion and Long-Term Value

The Reserva 9.5 is the entry-level configuration of the Fronius Reserva range. The same tower can be expanded up to 5 modules — providing 12.6, or 15.8 kWh — by adding modules to the existing stack and BMS without replacing the base unit. For larger storage requirements, up to four Reserva towers can be connected in parallel without additional combiner boxes or third-party hardware, allowing total system capacity of up to 63.2 kWh. Importantly, adding parallel towers increases capacity only — it does not increase charge/discharge power. This makes the Reserva 9.5 a sensible entry point for homeowners who may wish to expand as their usage grows, without committing to a platform change.

Installation Prerequisites

Location Indoor or Outdoor (IP65 rated). Must be free of flammable/explosive materials and inaccessible to children.
Temperature Range Permitted operation: -20°C to +55°C. Optimal: 15°C–30°C.
Mounting Wall-mounted, vertical stacking installation using supplied bracket. The BMS unit mounts to the wall; battery modules stack below. Minimum 300 mm clearance required on top and bottom.
Handling Each module weighs approximately 35.5 kg. Two-person handling is required for all module installation and removal. Total system weight for the Reserva 9.5 is 120 kg.
